There are now more than 1000 activities on the IMPACT social prescribing website. Members of the public and professionals can access information on activities that aim to improve the population's health in County Durham and Darlington. Most of the activities are free and the majority do not require medical referral. The website welcomes organisations in County Durham and Darlington to submit activities for inclusion on the site. Activities on IMPACT include physical activity, arts and creativity, learning, volunteering, befriending and self help.

The IMPACT website links professionals, patients and the public with non-medical sources of support within the community.
Health Professionals
The majority of activities do not require a medical referral, but for those do Health Professionals can register on the site which enables them to print off referral information to give to their patients. The site does not store any patient information.
Submitting Activities
Organisations in County Durham and Darlington can register to use the site and then once registered they can submit activities online.
The Organisation form only needs to be completed once. The Activity form should be completed for each activity you wish to submit.
The IMPACT project grew out of a desire by several GPs in the Sedgefield area to have a means of prescribing social activities for their patients as an alternative to prescribing medicines.
Members of the public as well as health professionals can use the website.
The ultimate goal of the project is to develop a source of information that will help to improve well-being and mental health and reduce social exclusion.
